Premier Foods Premier Foods’ New Flagship HQ: A Smart, Flexible Workplace Redefined The Challenge After standardising AV across their nationwide estate, Premier Foods turned to their new head office as a flagship site – a smart building that would exemplify their brand identity, sustainability goals, and future of work vision. This was more than a workplace. It was a multifunctional environment designed to support high-level collaboration, live broadcast events, and immersive hybrid communication, all within a beautifully branded interior. The AV needed to seamlessly support complex room requirements while aligning with the eco-conscious strategy underpinning the building’s design. The Boom Solution This HQ was all about communication, messaging, and brand experience. Every part of the AV solution was customised to maximise impact, flexibility, and functionality. From food studios to open-plan spaces, through to three-way divisible rooms opening into a broadcast-ready townhall, our job was to deliver intelligent technology that elevated how the space was used every day. We approached the project as an opportunity to create a model for the modern smart building by blending intuitive user experiences with integrated control systems, robust Zoom Room standardisation, digital signage, IPTV, and intelligent room booking. We integrated the AV systems with the Building Management System (BMS) to deliver a future-ready, sustainable strategy without compromising performance. This technically complex integration was to ensure intelligent energy management across the building. At the same time, we addressed challenging physical conditions — such as acoustic control in glass-walled spaces, managing high ceilings and hard flooring, and optimising sound and visual quality in open collaborative areas. Advancing AV Standards for Dynamic Flexible Spaces The entire ground floor was designed to be multi-functional, using advanced divisible solutions to create reconfigurable spaces that adapted to the needs of the moment. Each area supported seamless transitions between individual use, team collaboration, and full-scale presentations, with: Automated control of screens, speakers, mics and cameras Vocal reinforcement and multi-display configurations Integrated hybrid presentation support for in-room and remote audiences Each space combined the foundation of established AV standards with bespoke design for complex environments, delivering a consistent yet intelligent experience through intuitive controls that kept technology discreetly in the background. Workspace Reservations Wall-mounted touch panels and on-floor kiosks enabled fast, intuitive room and desk booking. Teams could instantly view availability and reserve spaces, improving flow and efficiency. Digital Signage with Purpose A building-wide digital signage system displayed corporate messaging, news, and live radio content. Content could be customised by zone, time, or team, with centralised management by facilities and comms teams. Subtle by Design Every AV element was carefully positioned to preserve the HQ’s clean aesthetic. Cable management was thoughtfully planned not just for today’s performance but to ensure future servicing and system upgrades could be carried out with minimal disruption. Sustainable by Nature The AV systems were integrated with Premier Foods’ sustainability strategy, including: Automated power monitoring BMS integration for building-wide energy efficiency Systems only active when needed, reducing energy waste without compromising availability Client Advocacy and Seamless Delivery Throughout the project, we acted as Premier Foods’ trusted representative, working closely with the main fit-out contractor to ensure every AV element was executed flawlessly. Our role was to safeguard the client’s vision, guaranteeing that the technology delivered exactly what was needed for an exceptional end-user experience and in line with Premier Foods’ future workplace strategy.
